An exciting dining experience created by the Dan Ryan's Group
When Italian immigrants landed at Ellis Island, New York at the turn of the century, they brought with them their hopes, dreams and, of course, a tradition of wonderful cuisine.

The new arriving Italians created a “Little Italy” in New York, as well as Chicago, Toronto and other major cities. In New York, Evelina and Dominic Amaroni became famous for their hospitality and offerings of fine food and drinks. The Amaroni's were a typical large Italian family, gathering at the end of the day around a noisy and crowded dinner table. Here the whole family, already over-worked and tired, shared the day's events with friends and relatives. Food was planned out carefully and the usual specialties included pasta with tomato sauce, grilled juicy sausages, fresh-baked bread and lots of full-bodied red wine.

In 1998 the first Amaroni’s restaurant opened in Festival Walk in Hong Kong and was an instant success. Everyone appreciated the traditional “Italian American” cuisine. Amaroni’s staff specialize in large parties and reservations are recommended. Amaroni’s is also widely welcomed by the press media and celebrities in Asia. In Hong Kong, Amaroni’s regular customers include Sammi Cheng, Cecilia Cheung, Athena Chu, Ann Heung, Danny Summer, Charlie Yeung, Sonia Kwok, Nat Chan, Deborah, Hacken Lee & Wanda Yung.

Extending the concept across the region, the first overseas Amaroni’s was established on Chang Chun Road in Taipei in October 2000. Continuing the growth of Amaroni’s in Hong Kong, the third Amaroni’s opened in July 2001 at Wu Chung House in Hong Kong.

Amaroni’s is like stepping back in time to the 1920’s era where large comfortable spaces are stocked with memorabilia from home to remind everyone of the people and places left behind. Authentic Southern Italian cooking methods are used to create food that is rich in flavor. Amaroni’s high energy atmosphere stems from a well-orchestrated chaos.

Professional servers, who weave around the crowded dining room with mouth watering platters of food, while diners spot these platters from across the room, continually asking “what's that?” The portions are hearty so no one leaves hungry, and the "family-style" platters make ideal servings for any size group.

Family style service at Amaroni’s is casual, friendly and fun. When ordering, customers may choose selections from one of the menu boards located throughout the dining room. Starting the meal with a big bottle of Chianti wine and a basket of home baked bread is highly recommended. A number of the house specialties include Bruschetta – a 14” grilled baguette, topped with fresh tomatoes, basil, garlic and olive oil, Cannelloni – pasta stuffed with meat and cheese, topped with Evelina's home made tomato meat sauce, Steak Pizzaiola – tender sirloin steak simmered in a tomato mushroom sauce, Osso Bucco – Veal shanks braised in tomatoes, wine, vegetables and garlic, the meat melts off the bone! And of course there is Dominic Amaroni’s famous Italian Salad – mixed seasonal greens tossed in a sweet vingerette served with artichokes, prosciutto ham, olives and cheese. End the meal with Amaroni’s award winning Tiramisu – layers of lady finger cookies, sweetened Mascapone cheese, espresso, kalhua and cocoa. Coffee – espresso and cappuccino served with a shot of Molinari Sambuca on the side.
